It’s official! Governor Beshear has released us to reopen our office starting Monday, April 27th. With that being said, there will be significant changes we will be making in order for us to comply with the new CDC and Kentucky Public Health recommendations. In order to meet these recommendations, we will spend the next week preparing our office for the “New Normal” that we will all be dealing with for the foreseeable future. Our office will open back up on Monday, May 4th to address all of our patients needs. And although our office has always utilized the strictest infection control protocols, there will be additional steps taken to protect our patients as well as our employees:

• Dentists and employees will be screened and have temperature taken every day.
• Patients will be asked to stay in their vehicles upon arrival and will be brought in individually to maintain social distance requirements.
• Patients will screened and have their temperature taken prior to being seen.
• Physical barriers will be in place where possible
• PPE will be upgraded to include face shields as well as N95 masks.
• All objects and contact surfaces will be sanitized between patients.
• High speed evacuation is utilized to reduce aerosol production
• Social distancing of 6 feet will be maintained whenever possible.

With the “New Normal” in place, the total number of patients we will be able to see on a daily basis will be fewer, but we will do everything within our power to accommodate our patient’s needs. We also have a long list of patients that had appointments that had to be canceled due to the shut down. Please be patient with us as we are doing everything we can to get everyone rescheduled as quickly as possible. We will be contacting those who have upcoming appointments as well as those who need to be scheduled.

Thank you for your understanding as we get back to serving our family of patients and community. We are excited to see everyone........stay healthy!

We just wanted to give everyone a quick update as this situation continues to evolve. First, we miss all of our wonderful patients! We are anxious to get back into the office and operate as usual, but are just not sure when that will be. Recommended guidelines are on a state by state basis and in our state we have been instructed to postpone all elective treatment until further notice. In its absence, we will continue to see only true dental emergencies - swelling, intense pain, infection, etc.

What are we up to during this time? We are busy rescheduling patients, answering phone calls, doing some “spring cleaning” and most importantly discussing how we will make this office as safe as possible when we return. Lastly, we understand this is a difficult time for many reasons so we hope you are doing well- all of you! Stay happy sand healthy. More updates to come!

Dear Patient Family,

Late yesterday afternoon the Kentucky Board of Dentistry, under guidance from the CDC and Governor Beshear, as well as the American Dental Association, advised dental offices to reschedule ALL elective procedures. This includes cleaning appointments, routine fillings and crowns, etc. We have decided to fully comply with this request in an effort to keep our patients and community safe. This will be out part in "flattening the curve." As always, we will remain available for true emergencies and will see patients on a case by case basis. It is unknown how long this will last, but we remain committed to complying with all directives to reduce risks. We will keep all of you updated as things progress and change. Please call our office with any questions as we will strive to have someone at the front desk for the next few weeks.

We apologize for the inconvenience this is for so many people, but this ever-increasing pandemic requires us all to make incredible sacrifices at this time.

All our best,

Shipley Family and Cosmetic Dentistry
